SCHNEIDER TT700 OP TRANSIT

This fine engineers' transit was made in Japan, and was marketed some years back by Nikon to round out its own equipment line. After the Nikon-produced H5 transit proved to be a bit less than stellar, they decided to stick with what they did best (levels, theodolites, and EDM) and so made an arrangement with the legendary Warren Schneider to import a line of transits that would meet Nikons high standards at an affordable price. The TT700 features a full 30x telescope with good optics, and the metal circles are read to 20" via vernier. The OP (optical plummet) eliminates the need for a plumb bob when positioning over a point of the ground. This model is still a popular choice for steel erection and other vertical plumb applications, where angle reading is not essential (so there is no advantage for the modern electronic theodolites with their LCD displays). Never needs batteries! This particular unit, with the exception of some engraved numbers, is in very good cosmetic, and excellent operating condition. Of course, we have completely serviced and calibrated it in our own repair department..so it's ready to go to work for you! Included is the case, sunshade, dust cover, tool kit, and 2 hand-held magnifiers. The outside of the case is marked and moderately scuffed, but it is still 100% secure. SOLD. Note; this same instrument was sold by Gurley as the "G15", and also with an ugly yellow paint job by Berger). | ||||||||||||
