| This nice Dietzgen plane table tripod was made under a US government contract, and is marked "USCE". The gimbal-style Johnson head attaches to a standard thread common to most plane table boards (board not included with this one... a complete set offered HERE). The tripod is in excellent cosmetic and operating condition, with most of the original laquer finish still present. Even the leather leg strap is still good. The dual leg clamp arrangement offers great stability. Also include is a rugged canvas-and-leather case, with a metal-reinforced bottom to protect the case from the tripod leg points. The canvas carrying strap is in great shape; unfortunately, age has taken the leather straps that held the case lid on--otherwise, the case is sound, with no tears or holes.
