The Engineers' 20" optical plummet transit used to be THE tool for larger construction and less-critical engineering applications. They have been replaced in current times by electronic theodolites, which simplify angle reading with their LCD readouts. If you are not scared by the vernier, and/or your primary need is an instrument that will accurately plumb a tall building or run a line, then the BT-20 deserves your consideration. It is just as accurate (if not more so) than most entry level electronic theodolites, and, with its all-metal construction, is more ruggedly built as well! This instrument is excellent operating and very good cosmetic condition. The case exterior is scuffed, but 100% solid. . The Lietz (Sokkia) BT-20 has been completely serviced and calibrated in our own shop. Comes with case, and copy of owners manual..... just SOLD!
